You need the following to net-boot (boot by PXE) a PC/client:

- 256 MB free RAM (for a true machine, virtual machine may not work)

- use these files in the TFTP server:

* initrd-Breeezy.gz
* vmlinuz
* pxelinux.cfg-default (use the booting lines for pxelinux.cfg)

Should you want to create your own humongous initrd, the netbooting-
forge-files are provided here as a compressed folder (will decompress
as 216-humongous folder; your inner work directory will be /boot).

- Put your tested pup_216.sfs and zdrv_216.sfs in boot/initrd-tree
(213, 214 and 215 versions can be used, too).
- Edit PUPPYVERSION for the right number (it is currently set to 213).
- Run the script makeext2initrd (this will create the humongous
initrd.gz in /boot.
- If the "no space left" error appears, delete the new initrd.gz and
start over. Change the value of PAD in makeext2initrd to suit your
file size (change the 2 instances of PAD in the script to be sure).

我的及其如果配置好的话我要无盘干嘛！哎！郁闷！
好像这这论坛里没人注重源码的研究，也没人回答相关的帖子！

是有的，用光盘启动后，在菜单－系统－Gparted可以进行分区管理、格式化、设置活动分区等等，然后用通用安装程序安装到硬盘就可以了。注意如果只保留Puppy一个系统的话，一定要设置一个EXT3分区来放置Grub的文件。

试了下xubuntu，安装就是磨难，看来我的机器不行啊，不被支持。。。。后来安装上了，但是没声音，usb键盘鼠标不能用，，，，，只能用本本的，难用。。。。

不过puppy的优点也是缺点啊：太小了，也缺少了写东西。

这个中文包可用于upup-466,最新的alpha6,比用4.2.0.19包好，文字清楚，可输入中文。新版的alpha6也可正常使用nvidia的驱动包。

继续新发现：
1.upup466的seamonkey是1.1.14版，比puppy4.2的稳定，好用多了。
2.安装了版主的中文包后，就可正常使用桌面上的mount工具了。只是在桌面任务栏上面的驱动器符号还不稳定，在其上点击右键后，就会消失。但顶部的工具可正常使用。--------修正，任务栏上的驱动器符号可像4.2一样正常使用，因此前是直接用ntfsmount命令装载，可能与驱动符号冲突，改用直接点击的方式就正常了。（13：26）
3.试用了版主的w3m,可直接在urvxt中使用。只是还不会在其中回贴，只好用回seamonkey。（14：36）

更新为476，0.0.4中文包使用正常，只是要将原upupsave.2fs删除后重新安装此包及其他包如nvidia的驱动等。
