    I have tried putting the chinese_pack_total-4.1.0.8-tw-wqy-4.pet so i can read chinese under the English vesion of Puppy linux 4.0 Dingo. However, I found out that after the petting, some of the default processes broke, i.e only the icon or menu left the directory, but real process won't work any more. Most obvious one is the pmount.
    1. How can i resolve the problem? I could not acess the external Cd rom or USB.
    2. When you develop a new upgrading process, you need to think about how to rollback safely if the user does not like the new upgrade or something does not work out?
    I could not rollback to my original English desktop. After I removed the chinese pet, all the label on the desktop became unreadable. I tried to remove the chinese line in the /root/.xinitrc, but it did not work.
    However, thank your guys efforts to improve the flexibility of the puppy. until so far, the puppy is the most easy and diverse small linux OS that I ever tried. It has a great future.

    并不是显卡的问题，是分辨率根本就没有适合宽屏的比例，都是正方形的比例，在宽屏笔记本上当然变篇、模糊了。

    我是把puppy安装在d盘fat的，用boot.ini引导grub，然后编辑menu.lst为以下内容后就可以启动了，不提示什么not found了：
    title PuppyLinux
    rootnoverify （hd0，4）
    kernel /puppy412/vmlinuz pmedia=atahd psubdir=puppy412 nosmp
    initrd /puppy412/initrd.gz

    安装grub到mbr来引导最好，所有linux通用

    puppy 是可以像普通的linux那样安装到硬盘的。

    就是用自带的install程序来安装。

    永中的桌面方式在puppy里面不支持

    你到
    usr/local/evermore/

    里面找到那个
    eio.bin
    拖到桌面上就行了。

    puppy的livecd自身不就有个安装程序吗？用那个应该可以直接装到硬盘上吧（我没试过，拿你当小白鼠，呵呵）

  • 怎么可以把声音调大一些？

    1.打开终端，输入：alsamixer



    2.看到了吧，那就是系统调节声音用的。



    3.用左右方向键，选择项目; 用上下键调节大小。一般我们要调节的是Master ,PCM,Front,这三项就行。把他们全部调到最大。打开你的播放器，听听，应该有声音了吧。



    4.如果还不行的话，把这些全部调到最大，一劳永逸。
