    我個人的觀點：
    PAE與 nonPAE應著眼在這句：

    => Disregard earlier notes about PAE and non-PAE kernels. This time there is only the one kernel, configured as non-PAE. This means that the kernel cannot recognise if your PC has more than 4GB of RAM -- it will still work, just won't use that extra RAM.

    有些配備好的電腦 RAM超過 4G
    配合有 PAE功能的內核才不致於讓 4G以上的 RAM閒著
    現在已經很少見到 80586以下的電腦了吧

    不過曾經聽海外歸國的同學說老外還蠻普遍
    早期的老電腦都蠻耐操的
    所以個人以為 puppy的設計就是為了照顧這些跑不動
    kde, gnome, windows 7,8 的老電腦
    也能跟上潮流享用最新的應用軟體

    基于 Barry Kauler 在发怖 precise 5-5 时的公怖 （全文见 http://distro.ibiblio.org/quirky/precise-5.5/release-Precise-5.5.htm），自 5.5 版本后，他不会发怖支持 non-pae 版本的 precise。而依赖 pemasu 及其他人去发怖支持 non-pae 的版本。 pemasu 已发怖了一系列支持 non-pae 的芭比版本，名叫 Upup Precise。详细资料可看 http://murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=83699
    我的看法是，连 Barry 自己也不知道，有简单的方法，可以在 non-pae 机上运行 precise 5.6.1 ，如果我有一个 non-pae 电脑，我会先花时间，看看 Upup Precise 系统有什么最新发展，到有更多空闲时间后，才再看看怎样解决在 non-pae 机上运行 precise 5.6.1的问题。

    已知问题:
    安装了中文包之后，在 carolina 1.00 下不能运行 smplayer，即不能播放电影，但仍可以听音乐。
    我已试过在 carolina 1.00 连中文包的系统下，运行 gxine 播放电影。由于我不肯定，所用的软件是否百份百公开及免费，所以我未有将这些改变公开分享。
